I'm spending more time practicing getting the basics right. Elements like light values, composition and depth. Also, working quickly and simply allows me not to dwell on things too long. I have found, when I spend too long analysing, I can get frustrated. Also an adage that applies to the life 'outside' the creative process.
I learn to get marks down quickly and then go through an iteration process. I am starting to recognise the feeling that I should be stopping earlier and not overworking images. Another adage: 'Less Is More'. And its a damn good one!
