Automated Motion - Simple Animatronic
Here, a pencil acts as a an anchor and a driver.
The motion can be driven by hand or by motors.
Such a method allows for live action puppetry.

It pays to be observant.
Especially in charity shops.
In this case, it cost me a fiver!
Which got me a solar powered K'Nex kit,
which was something ive been looking for, for this very purpose.

Right. I did borrow and quickly tweak the image of the citadel (which is not my creation), just for a quick visualisation of an idea. Here, my puppet is having a little dance. This is to explore how puppetry, live compositing and music can combine in live visuals.
When I iron out my ideas, I can spend time on my own backgrounds/scenes, which im certainly capable of... but im trying to stay in the creative flow at this point.

R&D - Process

Some work in progress and development for stop motion/puppetry.
Im developing my skills and working practice and process in order to explore how stop motion animation and puppetry can be used in immersive experiences and performances.
After attending the 'Puppet Masters Animation Conference 2024' I gained some insight and much inspiration into how to actually go about creating movable puppets and rigs. Here I made a rudimentary armature using bent wire and tin foil to cover the underlying skeleton.

Ive added some quick animated gifs here to show my progress.
